Outreach to Schools
In 2006 the North Carolina Chrysanthemum Society started a program of “Outreach to Schools.” Each year 5 to 6 schools participate and compete for a challenge cup and are awarded plaques. The objective of the program is to encourage interest in the growing and showing of Chrysanthemums among students with the hope that this will foster an appreciation of nature and a greater respect for the environment. In addition participation in the program may provide students with experience and marketable job skills.
